Cracking the Code to Fundraising
Teamwork makes the dream work. One year ago, MicroSociety Inc. (MSI), in partnership with Penn Hills Charter School of Entrepreneurship (PHCSE), was awarded the first in a series of grants to pilot and develop MicroSociety 2.0, an initiative to take MicroSociety online, and to expand PHCSE’s community partner program. Working together, MSI raised $301,000 and PHCSE another $18,000 from four foundations in the Pittsburgh area. It looks like we have cracked the code to fundraising: Partner on projects that benefit both the MicroSociety movement and a given school, and then appeal to local and even national funders who share our mission. MSI hopes to replicate this approach with schools around the country. In this session with our director of content and development, get an intro on pursuing grants that can help you work with us or raise money from foundations on your own.
