Need Help Figuring Out the Online Bank? ASK THE KIDS!

Tuesday, July 12, 2022, 4:40 PM - 4:55 PM

The session will explore a student-run digital banking and e-commerce “point-of-sale” system that employs familiar Google tools, which was created and implemented by our presenter, Lad Heisten of Thoreau Demonstration Academy in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The approach, harnessed by MSI’s MicroSociety 2.0 pilots, can employ cashless debit or credit card accounts or use checks and cash, and it can take place in a live, hybrid or online setting.

In this session, see media clips of Tulsa student bankers explaining the system’s personal and business dashboards, and how to access and use them. They will briefly show how to make a sale, pay a bill, and examine financial records. The bankers will also walk you through some common dashboard questions like: How do I find and get to my dashboard? What, where, when and for how much did I purchase something or pay a bill? And what, when and how much have I been paid?
