Building Trust By Creating MicroSocieties That Are Better Than Our Society

Monday, July 11, 2022, 9:35 AM - 10:20 AM

In this session, we will discuss how to build relational trust and put trust and belonging at the center and core of stronger, better MicroSocieties and school communities. We may have returned to our respective schools from pandemic shutdowns, but we have not fully recovered from the disruption and dislocation we endured. Now is the time to take stock, envision where we want to be, and design a new normal that meets the needs of all stakeholders. We can create societies that are better than the ones we have today and that we had before Covid. Specifically we will hold time and space to:

  • Acknowledge and appreciate each other and recognize how education has changed for staff and students
  • Discuss the idea of planning for joy as we return to school once again
  • Ideate ways to establish, reaffirm, and build trust as we start school again
  • Define ways to recreate intentional and meaningful partnerships that yield student success
  • Refresh by regrounding in our individual and collective WHYs
  • Make space to continue this conversation
