Become a Financial Shark: Savings, Debt and Investing for Kids

Tuesday, July 12, 2022, 2:50 PM - 3:35 PM

During this workshop, we will take a deep dive into savings, loans, banking products, interest rates and investments. We will discuss the difference between simple and compound interest, as well as how to use the theory of compound interest to maximize returns on savings and investments. We will develop knowledge about how the banking process works and the different types of banking products that students can take advantage of. And we will take a look at how the choices we make after taking out a loan or choosing a banking product/investment can drastically change how much we pay or earn down the road. We will go into the difference between good debt and bad debt and how to distinguish between the two.

You will leave these workshops with a better understanding of how smart people make their money work for them – knowledge you can deliver to your students and put to work for yourself! Together, we can go beyond working to make money to using the money we work for to help us reach our goals and live a healthy, stable and balanced lifestyle.
