Founder, The Acceptance Project

Taha Vahanvaty is the founder of The Acceptance Project (TAP). TAP began as a club at Stroudsburg Junior High School when Vahanvaty was an eighth-grader. He wanted to give students the opportunity and space to engage in civil discourse about their communities and the nation’s most pressing issues. As a high school student, Vahanvaty began piloting TAP’s focus groups and recruited graduate student facilitators from East Stroudsburg University’s (ESU) Diversity Dialogue Project (DDP) to mediate and to collect qualitative data that will be used to further inform its diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
