Jessica Drayer

K-8 STEM Educator, Penn Hills Charter School of Entrepreneurship

Jessica Drayer currently teaches over 400 students from Kindergarten to 8th grade STEM education, as well as a Robotics MicroSociety Facilitator at Penn Hills Charter School of Entrepreneurship. She has published research papers and presented at both local and international conferences about computational thinking and equipping students with problem solving skills for the 21st century (IAFOR, FETC, and ISTE). Jessica has conducted pilots researching best practices with the national MicroSociety organization, as well as National Science Foundation evaluating math initiatives in HeadStarts. She gained her experience from over a decade of classroom teaching from 2nd, 5th and 6th grades in Compton, CA and Anaheim, CA to 6th, 7th and 8th grade science in Wilkinsburg, PA. She also has developed curriculum and camps, as well as instructed with Carnegie Science Center and RoboMatter VEX Robotics. Jessica is a lifelong learner, always curious, always excited to jump in and try new things. She has a love of learning and loves to make learning come alive and apply to students’ lives.
