Lemuer Perez

Principal/School Lead, Jersey City Global Charter School

Mr. Perez was born in Puerto Rico and moved to New Jersey at a young age. He attended Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, New Jersey and graduated with a Bachelors in History and a Masters in the Arts of Teaching. He worked in the private education sector as a teacher, trainer, and assistant director during and after college. He taught middle school for eight years in Newark and then earned his Masters in Educational Leadership from New Jersey City University. He joined Jersey City Global Charter School to coach Math and create a more data driven environment to inform instruction. With his drive for transformational leadership, Mr. Perez became the Principal in 2017, then served as instructional leader, and was pivotal in the expansion of the middle school. Mr. Perez has been awarded the Top 100 Visionaries in Education Award of 2020 from the Global Forum of Education and Learning, an international educational organization that fosters intelligence and transforming education with innovation. In 2022, Mr. Perez was named the Jersey City Puerto Rican Principal of the Year for his dedication to the community where he serves.
