Nadira Jack

Dr. Nadira Jack is a former CSA, principal, and elementary and middle school teacher specializing in literacy and social justice in both Newark and Jersey City. Under her guidance and tenure, Jersey City Global Charter School (JCGCS), a MicroSociety charter school, opened its doors in 2013 and expanded its grade levels from K-5 to K-8, becoming a beacon of hope for the Jersey City community. Dr. Jack also serves as a consultant for MSI and is an advocate of equity and academic excellence. She is known for her innovative approach to instruction, connecting learning experiences with real life initiatives that deeply impact society. She has extensive experience leading successful programs of change, mentoring educators, developing leaders, and engaging in curriculum development. Dr. Jack obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science & Criminal Justice from Saint Peter's University in 2004, a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from NJCU in 2006, and another Master’s Degree in Educational Administration in 2010 from NJCU. While working full time as a Literacy Coach and planning for the launch of Jersey City Global Charter School, she pursued a Doctoral Degree in K-12 leadership, which she obtained in 2015 from Saint Peter's University. Dr. Jack is a professor of education at New Jersey City University, Seton Hall University and ACE University. She hosts the podcast Reconstruct Ed, which highlights innovations in education, and published her first research-based book, The Pedagogy of Consciousness, in 2020.
